I have no idea. Either that or the European iTunes is on different servers than the U.S. ones. Or maybe it's Apple spyware.

I recently found 10 great albums of early 1930s Jazz called 'Jazz Sound Lexicon' on the 'Pro Jazz Team' label which are on eMusic and iTunes in the UK.

As you can see, there are lots of lesser known, but super-hot sounding, combos (in the style of Mills Blue Rhythm Band), like:

eMusic Europe just added a whole bunch of the great Black & Blue Sessions CD's with music recorded in the 70's and 80's.
You might have heard of "Confessin' the Blues" (Jay McShann), "Slam Bam" (Slam Stewart), "Yes Indeed!" (Sy Oliver), but there are many others to.
I don't know about eMusic USA, check it out though...

This is pretty good news. Many of the titles of series are hard to find and often expensive when found.

One of my new favourites is Candy Johnson (an artist hitherto unknown to me!) and his CD 'Candy's Mood' in the Black & Blue Sessions series.
The tune 'Freight Train', which sounds like it was built on Night Train, which I guess in turn was built on Happy Go Lucky Local, is downtempo, but full of energy, perfect for slow and 'groovy' swing dancing, ballrooming, freestyling, however you want to label it (but I think you know what I mean when you hear the music). The same goes for most of the other tunes off the same CD, like 'Tuxedo Junction' and 'Candy's Mood'. Enjoy

Oh, and today they added a whole bunch of CD's from HEP, all across the range, their Metronome Series (live recordings and transcriptions, mostly from the 40's), 1000 Series (mostly 30's-40's) and 2000 series (mostly contemporary, not that much interesting unfortunately)...
Some of the more known within the swing dance community would be Chick Webb, Count Basie, Artie Shaw, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman and the Dorsey Brothers, but there are interesting CD's with Don Redman, Jack Jenney, Teddy Grace and others as well.
Most of it is stuff many of you already have in one form or another, but there's always a chance to find a gem somewhere.
Once again, this is eMusic Europe, I don't know about the American counterpart...

'Four Vagabonds' on Document Records -

Lovely harmonies in the style of the Mills Brothers (and they sing the instrument parts in the same way). I particularly like
'Hit That Jive Jack' which is on Volume 3.
