Don't assume no one has noticed just because nobody has said anything. Unless it is awful, that's not the sort of thing most people will complain about.

Moreover, better sound quality often provides an added benefit that most dancers do not even realize adds to the experience. Only nerds who pay attention will realize why. But everyone appreciates it, even if they do not realize what "the difference" is. Nobody complains about sound quality being too GOOD.

It is good that Emusic is upping the bitrate, though.

So I signed up for emusic. The bitrate has improved, as promised, and the sound quality on old Jazz stuff is turning out to be Excellent. So far I've only downloaded some Old Jazz recordings, but I'm stoked.

I'm not even bothered by the fact that newer artists aren't on emusic since I'm a fan of old music anyway... but I do see *that* as the biggest issue left for emusic to overcome.

Eddie Condon box set, get it now. I am trying to remember what it's called...the Complete Sessions or something like that.

Anyone else having trouble downloading?

Perhaps the apparent mass exodus is slowing down their servers. :?

I am too. I'm wondering if it won't go better at odd hours.

Probably not.

Yeah, my buddy said he's downloading like crazy and says it's REALLY REALLY slow for him. I think EVERYONE is doing a last minute binge, and e-music is going to lose a LOT of customers.

OK I signed up for eMusic this month. Being OS from the US it is reasonably good value to get music via this means. With the luxury of unlimited downloads gone are there are more precise recommendations eg great tracks on a otherwise not great album? I have just started exploring but there is a lot of material on there.

ps are the levels on the mp3 low? When I play songs from eMusic versus songs I have ripped myself I have to bump up the volume.
