Just found this compilation, will be enjoyed by fans of late 20s/early 30s dance music. Tracks by McKinney's Cotton Pickers and The Chocolate Dandies and others -

Coleman Hawkins: The Essential Sides Remastered 1929-1933

and there are three other CDs in the same series (1933-1934, 1934-1936 and 1936-1939)

Dozens of albums in "The Uncollected" series by Hindsight (featuring rare swing tracks) have just been added.

Oh, and Jeff Healey's trad-jazz albums were added a week ago!

Perfect way to spend my 50 bonus credits :D

I got a dozen great Fletcher Henderson tracks off of "Live at the Grand Terrace, Chicago, 1938". I never heard them before, but after a few seconds of previewing I downloaded them without blinking. They swing just right!

Check out the tracks 'Swing Tonic', 'Malady in F' and 'Zig Zag' on this album :)

Grrrrrrr.

New on eMusic UK in July 2008 is a good modern CD called Talk To Me from London-based Blue Harlem.

(As usual with eMusic, I believe that this is also available in the rest of Europe, but may not be available in the USA and elsewhere :( )

UPDATE: I know it's frustrating for US eMusic users who often can't buy music that's available in Europe. So, I just checked the USA iTunes Store, and the above album IS available there (not as good as eMusic, I know, but it's nice to know that at least some of these albums are available in some form to you in the US (and it might be on Amazon MP3 downloads too - and those are NOT available in Europe at the moment  ).

Thanks - I'd not noticed it come out. I've always liked Blue Harlem, and there's some great stuff on that album.

i checked the u.s. store: "talk to me" is available. so that's cool. or it would be, if my "save for later" queue wasn't already 63 albums long. i blame jesse and manu and their infernal show. oh, and nathan and his annoying "albums for lindy hoppers" lists.

Another Blue Harlem CD has appeared on eMusic UK. It's called Swing Street. As with the other Blue Harlem CD on eMusic ('Talk To Me'), it contains some good swing music. Both these albums feature the Dublin-born singer Imelda May, who has since left the band. Other Blue Harlem CDs, including a new one released in July 2008, are available via their website:

This one used to be hard to find as I recall, a solid recent addition.

"Lindy Hop Blues Live at Jellyroll" by Paul Tillotson Love Trio was added a few weeks back.

Also, "When Tomorrow Comes" from Miss Tess is on eMusic, it was mentioned on Jesse Miner's podcast, but the Show Notes did not state that it was on eMusic.

For those slow on the uptake (like myself) and into some soul there is a whole stack of Stax on eMusic (inlcuding several volumes of Complete Stax Singles). Enough there to keep me going for several lifetimes.

There seems to be a new series available on eMusic that is [very] similar to the output of the Chonological Classics label: http://www.emusic.com/charts/ch/b/-dbm/ ... 609/0.html [edit: not available in US]

It's called the "Complete Jazz Series" and there are already 78! albums of classic jazz available. The quality is average but useful enough.
