what are some of your favorite Ruth Brown tracks?

here is what i have in my case...but we are doing a feature dance on her, and i wanted some more suggestions.

Might as well list a few CDs here:

The Best Of Ruth Brown
Inexpensive Rhino release of Atlantic material (her definitive material). Worth reading some of those Amazon.com reviews, too. Regarding the "remastering," keep in mind that these tracks, like all Rhythm and Blues recordings of that era, were recorded by an independent label with a small budget and you can't expect much in terms of sound quality.

Miss Rhythm
is the more complete two-disc set.

Atlantic Rhythm and Blues 1947-1974
If you have the scratch, you might want to think about acquiring this eight-disc set. It's got more gems than a Tiffany's window and it seems you can pick it up for less than $70. If you get this you probably don't need any extra Ruth Brown material.

Keep in mind that in addition to the hard-driving numbers, Ruth Brown recorded quite a few ballads in a style that's pretty worthless to us swing DJs. Look for the songs that are listed on this thread if you want the good dancin stuff.

If you like her sound, you should look up The Big Horn, a wonderful four-disc set that contains seven tracks recorded by Willis Jackson, Ruth Brown's bandleader and husband.
