Phantom Dancer Tues July 26 (Mon July 25 in US)

#58 Post by phantom dancer » Tue Jul 19, 2005 11:32 pm

Live swing this Tues July 26 by Cab Calloway from the Zanzibar in New York in 1944. We visit Eddie Condon's Floorshow over WHN NY in 1949 to hear singer Helen Ward. We hear Frank Coughlan's Sydney Trocadero Orchestra from 1937. And we go all folksy as Susan Reed plays her zither, irish harp and an unidentified instrument she found in a second-hand shop she calls an "Ever-Lovin'' while selling US Savings Bonds on a Guest Star program from New York in 1947. Presented by Greg Poppleton. Apologies to those of you who like a posting closer to time, unfortunately, my schedule makes postings on Mondays difficult (I discovered) and unreliable. Full playlist at http://www.gregpoppleton.com. Cheers!
