Among the stand-outs in this week's 90 minutes of swing and dance from live 1920s-60s radio & TV are The Port Jackson Jazz Band recorded at Sydney Town Hall in 1947, Helen Forrest singing for Artie Shaw from New York's Hotel Lincoln in 1938 and piano maestro Joe Sullivan featured on his own Litle Rock Getaway with Bob Crosby's Orchestra from WABC NY in 1939. Marie went on to have a successful career as a jazz singer with her own TV show in Britain. Also live broadcasts by Isham Jones, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Fats Waller saying lots of hellos on the air in 1938 after his return from his triumphal European tour where he also appeared on TV in Britain, over the BBC, London.
