Unfortunately chick webb passed away way to early. there are only few albums that are out.

here are the albums i have and these are very good:
1) 1929-1934
2) Spinnin' the Web
3) Strictly Jive
4) Go Harlem
5) Stompin' at the Savoy
6) swingsations ( chick webb and ella)
7) Jazz After Hours

i would recommend all of them. you could find more info ( more albums and where to buy) here:

There is a lot of information on Chick webb in this thread: Spinning the Webb

Its really worth getting some of Webbs rare stuff. IMHO its some of his best.

You'll never see another person like Chick Webb. Get everything you can - especially the Chrono Classics.

Can anyone tell me with certainty who the clarinetist is on "Harlem Congo?" I think there's only one recording of it ever made...if there are more, let me know. (It's the one we always hear in competitions & routines, though.)

A book about Louis Jordan that turned up on Google Books makes it sound like it was him, but none of the online credits for albums with "Harlem Congo" on them have Louis Jordan listed as playing the clarinet at all.

All my liner notes are in storage at my parents' house. :-(

Thanks!

My liner notes say Chauncey Haughton.

Thank you!

Now I've just got to dig into my liner notes next time I go home, figure out which other songs I have (besides those you linked me to) he plays clarinet on, and listen to them to see if I can hear any more killer solos.
