This is a question for more of the music fans.
I'm in the process of preparing a show on John Kirby. I have 2 of the Classics Releases: "Classics" series:# 750 = 1938-1939 and # 792 = 1941-1943
These are both excellent samplings of the classic Kirby groups.
I'm curious if you have any other CDs you might recommend.
Also does anyone find this music suitable for swing dancing?

John Kirby is one of my absolute favorites. And YES, this most certainly is swing dance music. I play at least one of Kirby's tunes nearly every time I DJ. My current (burned) DJ disks include the following Kirby songs ripped from the indicated CDs:
A History of Jazz Drumming Proper [Disc 2]
Front And Center
Complete Columbia & RCA [Disc 1]
Anitra's Dance
Blue Skies
I May Be Wrong
It Feels So Good
Jumpin' In The Pump Room
Royal Garden Blues
Sweet Georgia Brown
The Turf
Transcriptions Vol. 1
Close Shave
Move Over
Transcriptions Vol. 2
Down On The Riminent
Fifi's Rhapsody
See What You Did
Shoo Shoo Baby
The Birth Of The Blues
Transcriptions Vol. 3
At The Crossroads
Boogie Woogie
Dengozo
Kansas City Caboose
The Biggest Little Band In The Land
9:20 Special
Effervescent Blues
Opus Five
Undecided
Where the same song has been released on multiple CDs, the selected CD is the cleanest copy/remastering.

I'll have to put him on my buy list - I picked up a compilation in DC with a track by John Kirby and Falty also recommended him highly.
