Snoqualimie Jo Jo
Anyone knows what this title means? Is it the name of a Indian Chief? I have two versions of it, one by the Delta Rhythm Boys, and one is by Vaughn Monroe...
Snoqualmie is a local Indian tribe in the Seattle area; Snoqualmie Pass is the main pass over the Cascades on the highway going east to west.
A lot of jazz bands came over to Seattle on tour in the late 40's and 50's; in the Ken Burns Jazz there is a still of Ellington's tour bus stopped up at the top of the pass at a restaurant.
I have no idea if this is related at all.
