Well if they are listening "How come you always load your Pentax when I'm in the nude" is pretty obvious ;-)

And then there's always Alberta Hunter's "Handyman" --- "He churns my butter" - but I think that crosses the line for a wedding, perhaps you can make them a special CD to use for their honeymoon.

Some others (which are stretching a little):
Java Jive
Tutti Frutti (Slim and Slam)
At a Dixie Roadside Diner

"A fine romance" is not about food right? I think it's about a romance.
Yard work sucks. I would much rather dj.

Of course, this song (and others that have been mentioned in this thread) fits into a subcategory, food songs that are really about sex.

Funny how many of the food songs are not really about food at all.

Nathan
Actually I think the Spinach Song is about drugs. Weed in particular.
I have never thought about that way. You may be right, need to research it. I guess it just shows where our heads are

I did some research,

Spinach song is on a lot of the drug lyric websites.

But, I first heard the song via the Risque Rhythm soundtrack. That CD is filled with songs about sex. Thus, I just assumed that it was another sex song. Made sense.

I guess the song can mean what you want it to, it can be about spinach, weed, or young girls who recently lost their virginity.

Also, there is a local dancer who is pretty religous, he always wears christian t-shirts to every dance. He kept requesting the song, I think I disappointed him when I told him the song was not really about spinach. Maybe he will feel better to know that it is probably about weed.

Just curious... why the exclusion on drinking songs?

Everyone has already mentioned my favorites, but I think Bellevue Cadillac has a song called "Chicken Wing" or something about chickens in general.

I also recall a song that mentioned KFC in the lyrics, but can't remember the title offhand.

Good luck!

One of my favorites:

"Save the Bones for Henry Jones" - Johnny Mercer with Nat Cole didi a version

Also the Four Freshmen did a version with Billy May.

Another favorite is the Andrews Sisters song "Hold Tight". That talks about my favorite food being fish.

FYI,

Jerry

"Jump jive and wail" makes me lose my cookies. Does that count?

Not sure, but those were the parameters I was given. I'm not done yet, but everyone's suggestions have helped a lot. Thanks!

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the spirits are not technically food.

Ooh. thanks. I was planning on putting in "Celery Stalks At Midnight" because the title mentions food and I was thinking I should break up the hour+ of all vocal songs...
