And that's an obvious hole in her career. :)

Not sure what this has to do with anything. But, since we are discussing Dinah Washington's lack of productivity in terms of basketball player songs.

Some of you may remember that she was married to a football player for awhile, Dick "Night Train" Lane, he died last year and lived in Austin.

So, perhaps she did sing about at least one football player.

and even more off topic -they named both their kids Richard? <tempted to make a tasteless joke here>. Hopefully they gave them better middle names - or perhaps their nicknames are 5:20 and 9:20 Special or something ;-)

we are on the topic of why it's better to be a trombonist than a basketball player.

really? that's also very very funny. Why would you do that? There are plenty of good names out there...

and Yakov, I still missed the joke about Dinah Washington and basketball players - I don't know her work at all, were you referring to a specific song?

we were talkin about being a trombonist vs. being a basketball player.

dinah washington sings "big long slidin' thing" and it's about a trombonist

thanks - sounds like my kind of song; I always liked the trombone players when I was in marching band.
