Good song. Kinda reminicent of Dippermouth Blues/Sugarfoot Stomp.djstarr wrote:Has Anyone Here Seen Jackson - Jack Teagarden and his Orchestra w/Kitty Kallen.

Jeff, if you have a problem ordering it. PM me. While the band is broken up, the singer (Alice Spencer) still plays a few times a month in various other bands (ACME Song Co. being the most popular for dancers).
She played the Austin Lindy Exchange last year. A live recording of that event will be released in the near future (I don't know the exact date). If you like "Drop Me Off In Harlem", you will probably like the ALX album.

PS - The second album by Victrola is not an ideal record for dancing. It is good for listening though.
Ha! You have got to hear the notorious 1938 Eddy Duchin recording of that song. It's a pretty jumpy arrangement for his band which usually played 'society' type music. But on this recording not only is he swinging, but his female vocalist is singing the phrase "fuck it" at times instead of singing "bucket". She does it repeatedly. Lots of laffs.Allen wrote:Any version of Old Man Mose that I've found.
