I have Birth of the Hot somewheres. It's been awhile so I can't make a rec on it, so I might go dust it off. I bought a bunch more Jelly Roll that I haven't gotten to yet. It's sad but true. I buy music and let it sit for weeks in the box. I was kinda hoping Mity got something that I could get at the Factory too.

Unfortunately, my Jelly Roll expertise is just this side of nil. I was hoping Mity might recommend his new purchases. I will go check my stash tonight though.

Besides, don't you already have basically everything, RW? I come to you for suggestions, not the other way around!!!

I decided to leave the hot jazz to others . The only J'Mo cd i play from regularly is Last Sessions: The Complete General Recordings. How can you not like a cd with songs like "Get the Bucket" [we got to go buy some beer], [how shall we play it] "Dirty Dirty Dirty", and "Shake It" [pretty baby].

I will play Red Hot Pepper from Mr. Jelly Lord on occasion, although that's done by Wynton Marsalis.

Great CD though.

My current JRM favourites are both from the Chronogical classis series. I've got 1928-29 and 29-30 and they both rock. Many of the recordings are done with various orchestras. I especially love many of the tracks he does with his Hot Peppers. Both C.D's are very good for you lovers of early big band swing sounds. Lots of very inspirational Charelston/Lindy tracks on these disks.
