This is on my "to buy" list. I won't find everything when I go to Amoeba, but I'm hoping. Note: I rarely buy things online. No good reason, just one of my peccadillos (read: immediate gratification).

scott hamilton: my romance, groovin' high, hamilton/peplowski/robinson, major league, tenorshoes
armstrong sunny side of the street
satch and josh
bud powell live in lausanne 1962 (billie's bounce)
harry james trumpet blues
benny goodman, slipped disc (1945-1946)
Raising the Rent, ivie anderson and duke "oh babe maybe someday"
the port of harlem jazzmen
complete blue note sidney bechet
master takes: victor sessions 1932-1943 (sidney bechet)
braggin in brass -- ellington on Portrait records
and his mother called him bill -duke
woody herman "apple honey" 1980 woody herman presents, vol 1 a concord jam
dan cunliffe
gene harris quartet with sub pianist (i forget who)
simon+garfunkel
david bowie
slim gaillard at birdland 1951
artie shaw Traffic Jam
jimmy eat world (the middle -- bleed american)
sponge (plowed)
neil young best of
jimmy scott unchained melody
bonnie tyler holding out for a hero
Moby Play

Some of these I want to track down more than others. The Woody Herman "Apple Honey" was a smokin' song I heard on KKJZ. I want the Armstrong because it's one of my favorite songs. Most of the other jazz were recommendations.

What's on your list?

Bonnie Tyler????

Hell, I have no control over myself (or too much). I buy everything the minute it pops into my head. I can't keep a list more than a week.

We had a lot of fun with the Footloose soundtrack at ALX last year. That is where you can get the Bonnie Tyler tune, go for the 15th anniversary edition with the bonus tracks.

Too bad Julius had to cancel on us.

Nathan

Note to those offended by the playing of Footloose music at a Lindy Exchange: One of the most popular ALX traditions is the Mr. Sinus theater screenings, in 2002 we showed Dirty Dancing, in 2003 it was Footloose, 2004 ?

Let me painstakingly say these are CDs I want to OWN, not DJ from. Having said that, I really like the Bonnie Tyler song.

The entire discussion of good vs. bad music is actually an interesting one, although done to death. I personally draw a distinction between music that is bad and not fun listening to, and music that is bad and yet still entertaining. There are plenty of really bad songs with really catchy melodies in the history of music.

I have a list of about 100+ artists that I want to add to my collection or still need to add, and that list just continues to grow.

There are a few things that I really want though, Mary's Idea and anything by Fletcher Henderson.

I really don't keep a list of what I want to buy; I go to stores or get online and just browse.
