First round of ideas for Dapper Dan's wedding ceremony music. Mostly instrumentals that will hopefully be familiar even to the non-swing attendees. Since I haven't had a chance to sit down with the couple yet or rummage through Dan's astounding collection, this might just be the first round of ideas. I will post the second round of songs and/or the chosen pieces.

Processional:
Artie Shaw: These Foolish Things
Ben Webster: That's All
Benny Goodman: Exactly Like You
Count Basie: The More I See You
Count Basie: On the Sunny Side of the Street
Django Reinhardt: Blue Moon
Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges: Let's Fall in Love
Duke Ellington: All of Me
Earl Hines: It Had to Be You
Jay McShann: Just For You
Louis Armstrong: Body and Soul
Louis Armstrong: What a Wonderful World
Milt Jackson and Count Basie: I'll Always Be In Love With You
Monty Alexander: Love You Madly
Oscar Peterson: I can't Give You Anything But Love
Oscar Peterson: I've Got the World On a String
Oscar Peterson: Let's Fall in Love
Teddy Wilson: If I Could Be With You

Recessional:
(all science fiction theme songs have been disqualified)
Sidney De Paris with Edmond Hall - Everyone Loves My Baby
Benny Goodman - S'Wonderful
Louis Armstrong - Keeping out of Mischief Now
Artie Shaw - S'Wonderful
Artie Shaw - Too Marvelous for Words
Carmen McRae - The Best is Yet To Come
Casa Loma Orchestra - San Sue Strut
Count Basie - Blue Skies
Count Basie and Zoot Sims - It's Only a Paper Moon
Count Basie - Yessir, That's My Baby
Django Reinhardt - Sweet Georgia Brown
Django Reinhardt - It Had to Be You
Duke Ellington - Ring Dem Bells
Duke Ellington - When You're Smiling
Duke Ellington - Stompy Jones
Harry James - Trumpet Blues
Louis Armstrong - I'm Crazy About my Baby
Louis Armstrong - Muskrat Ramble
Louis Armstrong - Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah
Maxine Sullivan - You Were Meant for Me
Oscar Peterson - As Long as I Live
Oscar Peterson - Let's Fall in Love
Scott Hamilton - Exactly Like You
Teddy Wilson - Our Love is Meant to Be
Teddy Wilson - Somebody Loves You
Wynton Marsalis - Red Hot Pepper

(if you were wondering, yes, my sense of humor snuck a few things onto the list that I expect to be immediately nixed).

Yes trumpet solo or blue moon would be great. I simply love these songs. I got them played in friend’s wedding last month and everyone admired my selection of songs.
