Sick song.

It would be even sicker if I had a good sounding copy of it...

CD Titles?

The version on this album is my favorite.. and since it's the first version I heard, it doesn't sound strange to me that it's a little slower (150ish) than normal, but that might be strange if you've got something zippier stuck in your head.

Great song, and lots of good versions. I'm currently enjoying one recorded by Django available on:

Count Basie's version (190 bpm) on the "Complete 1936-1941 Columbia Recordings" sounds pretty good to me. There are a few "snaps and pops" in the recording, but they aren't overwhelming or overly distracting.

For a few later versions:

Count Basie - Atomic Swing (166 bpm)
Paul Quinchette - For Basie (180 bpm, though quite long at 6:41)
Johnny Otis - Spirits Of The Black Territory Bands (153 bpm, once again quite long at 6:52)

Those are just the few I have in my collection. I'm sure there are other great versions as well.

Jesse
