Got a favorite version? Let's hear it. I'm bored.
Currently my favorite is Ellington's 5:46 version from this album:

Doctor Jazz
Track 12, 3:36
I particuarly enjoy the vocals, band interaction, and the clarinet and trumpet interplay.

Sidney Bechet one rocks hard. I haven't heard these others.
The version I have is off of a disconforme set (Complete 1939-1951 Blue Note Master Takes), which I'm guessing is pulled from Runnin' Wild.

that's a nice version. if you want to try a shorter version, there's Duke Ellington _Tiger Rag (280'')['37] _The Duke's Men- Small Groups Vol 1 Disk 1 _15. For a novelty version, the Mills Bros has one with lyrics, The Mills Brothers _Tiger Rag (290) _Greatest Hits 1932-1940 _14.

Wow, I like that version a lot, especially the low brass. Looks like a very fun album, too.CafeSavoy wrote:...if you want to try a shorter version, there's Duke Ellington _Tiger Rag (280'')['37] _The Duke's Men- Small Groups Vol 1 Disk 1 _15...
