"Rack 'Em Up"

#1 Post by gatorgal » Mon Nov 24, 2003 1:13 pm

So I'm listening to a CD that my friend gave me and there's a version of "Rack 'Em Up" on it by Jonny Lang. I quickly realized I have no clue who did the original version of this song.

Since it's one of my favorites, I'd really like to know.

Your thoughts?

Great song! I love Yoko Noge's version on Struttin' With Yoko.

Allmusic says the song was composed by Bruce McGabe. The only other two versions besides his that Allmusic lists are by Yoko Noge and Jonny Lang.

The version Jesse mentioned rules. Not crazy about the Johnny Lang one, though.

What's sad is that I have that version and totally forgot. Have to listen to that when I get home.

Mousethief... have to disagree with you. Love the Jonny Lang version.

Lots of people like it. I'm just not one of them.

Like 'em both. Jonny Langs my fave.

I am surprised there are not more, cuz it seems like I have heard more than two versions.

I'm surprised too... I thought there were more versions and I just didn't know about them.

I've got my biases because my name is printed in the liner notes of Yoko's album and I would go see her most Mondays when I lived in Chicago.

Jonny Lang's version is an all right WCS tune, but IMO doesn't compare to Yoko's version.
