Love this song - "honey you can't ride this train -- I'm the chief engineer..." makes a good counterpart to all the Bechet stuff.

Thanks! My favorite line from the song is "If you don't shake it, don't get no cake"

Daniel ~ I totally didn't get a chance to hear your set yesterday. I'll catch you next week... especially since you've gotten some great kudos. Can't wait to hear it.

Classic swing rocks.

If we ever get bored, we could do a battle of the SwingDJs show, using a thread here to populate the playlist. Sort of a Play-By-Post thing.

Daniel ~ Finally got a chance to listen to your set last night. Great stuff! You influenced more than one of my musical selections for our Thursday dance.

Keep up the great work!

August Thursday Guest DJ: Tony Quach (Los Angeles, CA)

Tony Quach is a house DJ at LindyGroove and our August guest DJ on Yehoodi Radio. Here’s a little about Tony:

"Tony Quach started DJing at Pointe 705 in Los Angeles with Peter Flahiff who got him hooked on Jazz history and Oscar Peterson. He has DJed at San Diego's Fire House, Café Savoy and for their 2002 New Years Exchange. Tony was an after-hours DJ at Swing Camp Catalina 2002 and is a DJ at LindyGroove. Much of his DJ skills come from good friends and mentors Lance Powell and Jesse Miner to whom he owes much."

August Friday Producer's Picks: The Singers

I'm bringing back my selection of favorite vocalists for August's "Producer's Picks". Tune into Yehoodi Radio every Friday this month to hear Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Williams, Louis Armstrong, Ernestine Anderson, and so much more.

Enjoy!

Isnt it about time that "The World Champion" DJ Peter Loggins gets a yehoodi guest spot?

har har. I just heard Greg's Yehoodi plug "the only place where I can say Shana's boobies", which is so funny given Shana's "boobie" statement was played so often on previous shows...

Loving the just-played song called "Oh! Ah! Dee Dee" by Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson and Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis. It's a great swinging track that is certainly new to me.

I coulda sworn I was listening to James Moody a bit ago, but I haven't heard anything but hip-hop in about five songs. Maybe I accidentally switched to a different Live365 station.

Tony's a huge hip-hop fan, and it looks like he slipped in a mini-set of it (7 songs) in the middle of his show.

I heard several tracks that were new to me that I am interested in getting.
Including the Cleanhead Vinson one that Jesse mentioned.

On a funny tangent.
The comment below was posted on the our local Board today, the general discussion was online radio and I had turned a few people onto Yehoodi radio. This comment was made at some point during Tony's show. Somebody has an ignorant co-worker.
