Sure thing. Sorry for the delay. This is not the order of the show as I just randomized the songs for the show, dropping in different versions of "Shiny Stockings" every three songs or so, and this is just a WinAMP-generated playlist, so it doesn't display the album names. Yeah, I was listening last week and thought I was imagining things. Nice to know I'm not going bonkers. :)

Daniel Newsome is a swing DJ from Denver, Colorado, playing music that inspires, teaches, enriches, and cultivates the heritage of American Swing Dance in the Denver community. Dan has played many exchanges and events, and can be heard spinning this year at Camp Hollywood, ULHS, and Cowtown Jamborama. "I chose to play a set of classic swing music for my Yehoodi Radio Show, because I feel that the classic/vintage side of the music and culture is underrepresented."

Holy crap this is great stuff.
Rinse.
Repeat.

I don't normally listen to the show, but with a set like this I'd tune in every day.

Right now, it's running two songs at once - no, it sounds like 2 versions of "Drop Off in Harlem" and the last song by Julia Lee are running concurrently?

Is that intentional or a Live365 thing?

Glad to hear you all are digging Dan's show so far!

July Thursday Guest DJ: Dan Newsome (Denver, CO)

The month of July brings a great DJ from the Mile High city to Yehoodi Radio. Here’s a little about Dan:

Daniel Newsome is a swing DJ from Denver, Colorado. He and his partner Tiffiny run Denver's famous Mercury Café nightclub that features a weekly vintage night, a weekly groove night and a weekly night of live music. Dan has been DJing the Mercury Café for 5 of the 13 years that the Mercury Café has featured swing entertainment, and plays music that inspires, teaches, enriches, and cultivates the heritage of American Swing Dance in the Denver community. Dan has played many exchanges and events, and can be heard spinning this year at Camp Hollywood, ULHS, and Cowtown Jamborama.

"I chose to play a set of classic swing music for my Yehoodi Radio Show, because I feel that the classic/vintage side of the music and culture is underrepresented. I think its important for dancers to hear lots of standards and hear the sounds that inspired the dance in the beginning. I
try to play music that dancers and listeners will enjoy from their first night on the floor and throughout their dance career; timeless music that will make for a great memories, and creates inspired and energetic dancing. In my set, I also included a few modern musicians and groups that I feel are looking forward without forgetting where the music came from."

July Friday Producer's Picks: Tribute to Ray Charles

Ray Charles passed away last month at the ripe old age of 73. His music is swinging, blues-drenched, spiritual, always soulful. This man makes you want to dance! You are probably familiar with "Rockhouse" and "Hallelujah I Love Her So", but there is so much more. Tune into Yehoodi Radio every Friday this month as we honor his extensive and amazing musical career.

Jesse

Certainly not intentional. For me if the Live365 stream speeds up if it gets behind, which is wierd to hear the songs played faster.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
