Slim Gaillard remix?

#1 Post by Yakov » Wed Sep 24, 2003 2:23 pm

The Yehoodi radio station ID has a background that sounds to me like a hip-hop remix of Slim Gaillard -- is this actually avaliable someplace in a full length song? Sounds like an interesting idea...

Just as long as they don't remix Basie or Billie Holiday to add whomping bass.

Are you talking about the Yehoodi's remix of Cab Calloway's "Who's Yehoodi" or is this something different.

Apparently you haven't heard the Millennium Versions (dance remixes) of Billie Holiday's "God Bless The Child". It's certainly a strange CD-single but interesting none the less.

I heard it was much better than their first effort. However, the Ella - Angel Eyes that I heard was harrible. The other ones I got a sneak listen at sounded pretty cool, though. All really for listneing only of course.

i heard one of these on the radio and didn't realize it was a jazz remix until they announced it. (i.e. it blended well, i.e. they did a good job.)
