This is from a 1945 FITCH BANDWAGON radio show. Looks like he gets one number and a comedy routine wit Cass Dailey. The number is hot @ about 20:30.

The Fitch BandWagon show began in 1938 and used to feature big bands live each week. They don't turn up much. I hope the earlier shows have more music than this 10/21/1945 show does.
It slowly evolved into the Phil Harris-Alice Faye program that ran for a number of years. Very funny show, but no outside bands coming on IIRC.

Will big bands ever come back?

Found an early FBW show from 1942 which is all music except for some comedy with Chico Marx of the Marx Brothers. It's the Chico Marx band with 17 y/o Mel Torme on drums and he sings one tune. Some female singer does a nice "Mr. 5 by 5"
