It's on YT in 11 parts.
From 2004.
I had heard of this for a while and never saw it until last night. The YT has English subtitles and there is a version with Spanish subtitles, too.
It's a comedy about some high school girls in Japan who start up a swing band. They wind up playing In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade and Sing Sing Sing and a few other tunes as the film goes along.
Light plot with a few good jokes and sight gags, but pretty low on musical inspiration for the viewer or the girls.
I was hoping for more musical ambition to spark them rather than trying to get out of detention or whatever it was.
As I got halfway through the film, I began skipping forward looking for musical scenes.
If you have 2 hours you have little use for, this film may be for you.

Re: Movie review - Swing Girls
I stumbled across it about a year or so ago. Thought it was a neat film. Not a must see film by any means but entertaining if you come across it and want something light to watch for a couple hours.

Yep - that's about it.Toon Town Dave wrote:I stumbled across it about a year or so ago.
Wonder if an American version would work? Could spark the swing dance scene like SWING KIDS did.
