Its nice to support the bands by purchasing their CDs. If you are djing often there is a big risk of damaging the cd's . The CDs are safe at home with their contents added to the music library. Also I live in a city where everyone uses public transport so its not convenient to carry so many CDs .
I use downloads and as Sam said a high quality sound card. Just last wednesday I am making changes to my song list on the way to our weekly dance when the external drive falls to the floor of the ferry and stops working. I was very happy that I had both my hard drive backed up and my ipad !
