Cover songs

#1 Post by omsuperhoops » Tue Dec 04, 2012 9:35 pm

Yo,

I have been getting into cover songs lately. More accurately cover songs of popular songs for LindyHoppers. I have been wearing out this version of Isn't She Lovely by Bill Ramsey (Harmonica just slays me)
and Walking on Sunshine - Jazzystics.

I have all the 90's/70's/80's jazz stuff as well as Pink Turtle, Paul Anka, and the Lost fingers.

I have an awesome version Kiss by Tony Desare that I play.

Jesse Suggested this awesome PAula Abdul cover by the Le Chat Lunatique

Does anyone have anymore suggestions? Maybe from more contemporary Swing bands?

There's a swing version of "Sex Bomb", from Mousse T. feat. Tom Jones...

lol i think i read somewhere that sex bomb should never be played anywhere ever...in fact once i played that song once and one dancer looked at me with such disdain, i never played it again the look still haunts me...imma fan of mousse t remixes though,

im looking for a more small bandy cover versions sound...

I didn't know that. By the way, I don't like very much any kind of cover... I only suggested this song because it's a cover, as you asked...

Most of the tracks aren't that danceable (at least lindy danceable), but check out Christa Hughes and the Honky Tonk Shonks. They've covered a bunch of stuff trad jazz style.
