Hey everyone -

I'm pleased to announce that I'm releasing a new CD in a couple weeks, and you can pre-order it today. You can listen to all the songs here: http://goo.gl/OWShN

The band is my ten-piece group, the Solomon Douglas Swingtet, featuring some amazing musicians including Kim Massie on vocals, Bria Skonberg on trumpet, D'Vonne Lewis on drums, Pete Petersen on tenor sax. If you've heard my Swingtet in the past, be prepared for a surprise, because this project is totally different from anything we've done before. It's all soul and R&B and blues music, with lots of Aretha Franklin songs, in addition to songs by Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, Etta James, and others. The song selection is targeted toward blues dancers (though you'll find three songs with tempos that work for groovy Lindy Hop).

The release date is July 15th. Please go to http://goo.gl/OWShN to order your copy right now!

Solomon

Great job and great idea! I haven't heard something in that style for dancers since Barbara Morrison's "Live At The 9:20 Special."

Gee, this sounds like lots of fun, Solomon! I can think of just the perfect gig for DJing this here in Sydney - our irregular Speakeasy.

Will it be available for purchase by download?
