These two guys with pretty good pedigrees are visiting Australia and I was wondering if anyone had come across them. We are hoping to work with a jazz group which might be including these players for a festival here in Canberra. Their websites:

I just caught Andy Schumm with some local Chicago musicians. He's top notch. He and the others laid down the best night of dance music I'd heard in probably a year.
More on my blog. And Michael Steinman also has
a glowing assessment over on his blog.
I've heard Josh Duffee with a couple of different groups, including his own combo and Vince Giordano's Nighthawks. Duffee is a phenomenal drummer, some say the best there is with 1920's style percussion.

They're only doing Melbourne, Russ? Will you please keep me/us posted RE Canberra gigs, so we Sydney kids can get in on the action?

Sounds great. I will have to work hard to make sure it all works.
DP - they might have a gig in Wollongong as well. But Canberra will best.
I think they will have John Scurry on guitar who is mentioned here:
http://jazzlives.wordpress.com/2010/11/ ... rse-swing/
and of course Michael McQuaid.

Awesomesauce.
How can they have a gig in the gong and not one in Sydney though?
