There's a song called 'Stay Up Stan The All-Night Record Man' isn't there?

Great stuff - I love the ads :)

Yeah - it was named in his honor.

There are quite a few Swing DJ record title tributes.

Fred Robbins - Robbin's Nest

Martin Block - Martin On Every Block

Jack something - Jack the Bellboy

Milkman's Matinee - Stan Shaw again

Jivin' with Jarvis - Al Jarvis

Smada - Joe Adams

Jive at Five - forget who

Platterbrains - Leonard Feather

and more.

Fantastic stuff! The internet has killed midnight to dawn radio, a shift I used to do a lot in the 80s. The later the night, the more special the listener! Also like the article on the scarab car. A while ago I was an engineer in a resin factory and an old hand told me how the factory had built a prototype resin chassis. 'Whack a sledgehammer on that, Cec,' the developer said. And Cec and his sledgehammer bounced off the roof of the car. That was the 50s, when unbreakable cars were more important than breakable people - though the resin car never saw the road
