Stan Kenton Formative Years CD for sale

#1 Post by phantom dancer » Wed Aug 12, 2009 8:29 pm

I'm selling a Stan Kenton Formative Years CD on ebay. Here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... CA:AU:1123

Also check out my Jazz Emporium Amazon Affiliate Store selling Jazz & Swing on the Jazz Emporium page of http://www.gregpoppleton.com

Here's some info about the Stan Kenton CD...

This Verve re-issue of the 1950s Formative Years Stan Kenton LP is as exact a replica of the original LP that a CD can get

The music on this CD was recorded by Stan Kenton's first band in 1941 - 42. It is the swing-based groundwork from which grew his experiments in progressive jazz

The CD is in a cardboard sleeve in perfect condition. The sleeve has the original LP artwork fromt & back (see pictures)

The original LP back cover and liner notes are reproduced full size in a folded insert inside the cardboard sleeve

This insert is in perfect condition and has never been unfolded

There is also a bookmark cardboard insert with the track-listing and a Verve special offer that finished in 2005. This insert is also in excellent condition

The CD disc is in perfect condition and has never been played

The CD artwork emulates the paper disc of the original LP (see picture)

This CD was given to me some birthdays back and has never been played

I hope this swinging CD goes to a good home

Track Listing

1. El Choclo

2. Gambler's Blues

3. Lamento Gitano

4. The Nango

5. Tabu

6. This Love of Mine

7. Reed Rapture

8. Concerto for Doghouse

Good luck with your bid. Happy Shopping!
