I have a hankering to hear this great record in clean sound. I only have a taped copy of the 78 and the LP reissue on the Sy Oliver/TD CD that seems to have been cut-out. (What a fabulous CD that was!)

Anyone have a source for me to listen to NOW.....seeing how cool the interwebnet is vs a store that I could go to NOW and buy the CD....hahaha.

Thank you, my lil friends, so many thank you's to yooooooo.

Thx, but none of them is the original Victor recording. The Billy May is a good recreation and TD has some live, but shortened versions there. I want the long one with all the solos and all the section work - 4 minuts of intense, high pressure Swing.

The only possible one is on the "Irish American Trombone", but it looks like a cheesy issue. My pop-up blocker is blocking it right now.

Hahaha. Oh, the irony. :)

Actually I think the one off "Irish American Trombone" is the original - it's on e-music and I listened to the sample - sounds just like the copy I have from the "Yes, Indeed" CD.

That's the one!

I've never bought an MP3 before.

8 of the samples on there are by a 'tribute band' and they are all the same.

The live TD version from 43 is way too fast. The Billy May os OK, bur sorely deficient when compared to the original.

Oddly - the one true version on the Irish album is skipping in the sample.

I'm just gonna go grab my cassette.

Unless someone is gonna upload an MP3....and if I knew or learned how to make an mp3, I would begin sharing some stuff.

OKeh - where is the closest MP3 shop in Pasadena? I will meet like-minded people and enjoy the hearty handclasp of Swing music fans there.

if you really want a virtual experience, buy your mp3 from the online mp3 shop while having a video chat with a like minded music lover. you'll have to do the handclasp yourself.
