All I really know is that he took the gig as a sideline. Maybe he was on a band break b/c he had not toured nationally from the end of 46 to September 47.
Check the net. There are 2 books on TD. The most recent one LIVIN' IN A GREAT BIG WAY is badly indexed and there is no reference to WMCA in the text that I can find.
