Odlly enough the 'other' genre I DJ, I introduced Ireland to the Lucksmiths (maybe).

Belfast has to say the least a very fledgling 'scene' although there are several extremely dedicated people working on expanding that, sometimes it seems a bit like trying to nail jelly to a tree.

In terms of my own DJing I try to play as much 'real' swing as possible... But I'd be out of a gig if I didn't tip my hat to the 90's 'neo' stuff and to some extent (actually increasing) the likes of G-Swing. They form by far the bulk of my requests.

I find that when I'm listening to others there's a definate bias towards playing music which is easier to dance to, almost regardless of the actual genre. So you can take trips through country, 60's girl bands & modern chart pop. *shrug*

I was first specifically thinking 'recorded', but 'live' information would be good to know from anyone lucky enough to have live Swing bands performing for them.

Actually, most scenes in the US use at least half live music. I know that is true for Pittsburgh, PA where I live and maintain my band, and also Washington DC where we play quite often.

Are the half live bands Swing bands playing Swing music?

Also - Flo Cassinelli is/was from Pburgh. A friend of mine revered him and I just got 2 LPs from my friend's estate. Do you know and/or have you heard of FC?
