Today Amazon has "Best of Duke Ellington", 26 tracks for $1.99.

Even my inadequate Ellington collection has most of these songs, but there are a few in there that are new to my collection. Easily worth the $1.99.

Ella Fitzgerald compilation
Golden Voices

One of the reviewers wrote:
"This is a collection of very early to early Ella Fitzgerald almost entirely from the Decca label. The dates of these recordings are between 1935 and 1945 -- except the last two with Louis Armstrong, which are from later, but I'm not sure exactly when."

Not every scene plays this type of music, in Texas you can generally get away with it.

The new Lyle Lovettt CD came out today (Tuesday, 10/20), it was $3.99 Daily Special on Amazon.com yesterday (Monday, 10/19) as a presale, Amazon.com still has the $3.99 price up, not sure if it is a two day sale for it (which happens sometimes) or if it was just an error.

In any case, I have played the first few tracks, sounds a lot like his previous albums, which is a good thing.
