Underrated piano player, arranger, composer. He died aged 30 from a fondness for grog and TB. I was doing some research on him as I was looking for a better version of his song "Madam Dynamite" than the versions I have where the sound is not great.

Good quality version with Eddie Condon on this CD:

Remastering and sources from John Davies.

Also there is a great tribute CD by Hal Smith's Rhythmakers (unfortunately they don't do a version of Madam Dynamite)

Includes previously unrecorded versions of his compositions A Glutton For Love, Answer My Heart and Children, Walk With Me.
