I saw this on some young guy's sweatshirt while I was driving down Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles maybe 20 years ago.
He had also stenciled the sillouette of a clarinet on his shirt.
I didn't know what it mean than and I don't know now.
Anyone know?
Will big bands ever come back?

My guess is that it means "For Members Only". He was probably a fan.
Apparently there is a jazz label called FMO as well, though I doubt there is any connection from what I looked up.

That's a valid guess, but it doesn't make much sense to walk around with a 'secret' sweatshirt on. Why bother?

I dunno, maybe becuase he was a GIANT, FLAMING, MUSIC DORK.
Really though, does it matter? What's the point of speculating?

You mentioned this was 20 years ago... a time when many people walked around with 'secret' jackets on marked for "Members Only."
(worse joke ever)

Yeah. Why wonder about anything. How dumb.
