Magnificent album! Ever track a winner!

This release has been floating around since the 1960s on LP on the Prestige label. Glad to see it is on CD now....and with more tracks.

The LP release had an unalluring cover and the source of the sides seemed a bit 'mysterious' to me as a new collector and listener to hot Jazz, but something told me to buy it. I did and I have always dug it and have not played it enough over the years.

Hey! Question - which track has that hot ride-out tag on it and a quote from "Hold Tight" and one of the guys shouting out "HEY!" before the ride-out? (Maybe it's "YEAH!)

The SWING label from France had great stuff and even the label itself looked like it meant business.
Will big bands ever come back?

Agreed! I love the feel of the Dicky Wells/Django stuff.

I think this is "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea", a track I play occasionally.

"Django Reinhardt and his American friends" got a lot of thread play a couple of years ago and many of us purchased it, it also has the Coleman Hawkins and Dicky Wells tracks on it.
