Rag Mop is indeed great. It's on my list of close-to-overplayed tracks.
I received two of the Halycon discs today, and, yes, they sound horrible. Almost unlistenable and definitely not DJ-able. Vol 6 was slightly better than Vol 3, but still very poor. Underneath all the distortion and noise I did however hear a nice version of Big Chief de Sota [1936].
Bob Crosby CD recommendations?

Bob (and Bing) Crosby definitely recorded a significant number of songs originally by Western Swing and Country artists, more than any other Jazz artists I know:anton wrote:Rag Mop is indeed great. It's on my list of close-to-overplayed tracks.
Rag Mop (originally recorded by Johnny Lee Wills),
It Makes No Difference Now (o.r.b. Cliff Bruner),
Walking the Floor Over You (o.r.b. Ernest Tubb),
