Hi everybody,

I hope this is the right forum for this song as it is a bit non-standard :?:

Check out this video of Louis Armstrong & Johnny Cash singing a Jimmy Rogers blues song. ("Blue Yodel No. 9"). From 1970.

Isn't that one of the two/few sides that LA originally recorded with Jimmy Rogers?

Yes, that is correct, he mentions that in the video clip.

I was amazed at the difference between Louis' face when he is laughing and when he is blowing the trumpet. One moment he is all crazy kid, and the next dead focused...

It is nice to think about these two guys, one black, one white, playing together in 1930. Especially when one was the idol of country music, seat of southern culture. Isn't that before the first ethincally-integrated swing band recording?
