"THE RECORD CHANGER"

THE RECORD CHANGER JAZZ MAGAZINE

THE LEGENDARY JAZZ AND RECORD MAGAZINE FROM THE 1940s and 1950s.

THE COVER SAYS IT ALL : "RECORDS FOR SALE, RECORDS WANTED, JAZZ NEWS and ANALYSIS".

THIS WAS *THE* MAGAZINE FOR JAZZ FANS AND RECORD COLLECTORS 'BACK IN THE DAY'.

GREAT ARTICLES ON JAZZ AND JAZZ MEN WRITTEN BY PEOPLE WHO WERE ON THE SCENE AT THE TIME.

MANY FINE PIECES ON THE ART OF JAZZ RECORD COLLECTIING.

LOTS OF AUCTIONS OF 78 RPM RECORDS AT PRICES THAT WILL ASTOUND YOU.

THE HILARIOUS "CAT" CARTOONS BY ARTIST GENE DIETCH.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR BY YOUNG MEN WHO WENT ON TO BECOME MAJOR FIXTURES IN THE WORLD OF JAZZ RECORDING AND COLLECTING.

IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE MAGAZINE AND IT LASTED FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS, MORE OR LESS.

ALTHOUGH PUBLICATION BEGAN IN 1942, I AM TOLD, THE MAGAZINE DID NOT TAKE ON IT'S FAMED LOOK UNTIL THE END OF WWII, 1945.

THE MAGAZINE CONTINUED STEADILY UNTIL THE EARLY 1950s WHEN THEY APPARENTLY BEGAN TO RUN INTO FINANCIAL PROBLEMS. THE ISSUES BECAME SOMEWHAT SPORADIC AFTER THAT POINT AND THE MAGAZINE SEEMS TO HAVE CEASED PUBLICATION IN 1957.
