Does it have a standardized serial number? I'm trying to find out if any libraries are carrying it. I believe for CD sets the serial number I'm looking for is an ASIN, but I'm not sure of that.

There is nothing listed as an AISN, but the set has some serial numbers on each disc:

MD7-236
A 706534 to A 70657 (different number per case)

and the discs are labelled as:
A 689040-A to A 689040-G

I Hope that helps.

I've finally retrieved my box from the US and am currently going through the first couple of discs. It's nice but not super - I had many of the tracks before and the sound is not a great improvement. (I might even like the Classics sound better for some of the Fletcher Henderson tracks.)

Anyway, joining two threads here, when I came to track 25 on disc 1 - "Swing Is Here" by Gene Krupa's Swing Band (available on many other collections as well) - I thought I recognized the riff starting at 2:20. It's actually quite similar to the riff heard in the Keep On Punchin clip. A few of the previous sections also bear some resemblance. I'm not saying that the band in Keep On Punchin' was playing "Swing Is Here" (they were probably just riffing) but perhaps they were influenced by this track?

After some further listening, I have to correct myself here - many of the tracks sound much better...

Listen to "Light Up" with Buster Bailey from 1932, that's another one very close one (predating both Swing Is Here from 1936 and the Keep Punchin' clip). But as you're saying, it's probably just riffin' in general...
