Lang is in there.

It would be interesting to break the list down by instrument.

No one wants to play a 'death ax'.

I scanned the list and didn't see it, but there it is.
Word to the wise, forget the tonsilectomy.

Trombones seem pretty safe on this list...only 2 early deaths.

ah that's just because the names aren't famous - people rarely care about the trombonists. :( bugger all

What do you call a trombonist without a wife, girlfriend or mother?

Well, what do you call him? Horny?

While we're on the subject of trombone players, I'll put in a shameless plug for a FANTASTIC female trombonist in Paris who I know because she comes from good old Cbus, Ohio. She makes trombone seem a lot hotter! (not usually very danceable, but awesome nonetheless) She is, I believe, the only female musician to ever join Ray Charles' band. Her concerts are fun because she often involves her audience in call and response.

I once saw Steve Turre perform in a restaurant and he was so jaw-dropping good everyone had no choice but to drop their food and jump up for a standing ovation. He played jazz concha shells. Dear god it was amazing. (he used to be in the SNL band so you *might* recognize him.... okay probably not. You'd know that stupid blond cheezy guitar guy instead  )

I love trombone!
