After some more searching (how could I forget iTunes!) I found that almost all tracks are available in some form or another. Hallmark has recently issued a couple of poor-sounding CDs (which I would guess are dubbed from old Ajax cassettes) that contain a couple of rare tracks. Updated list below (with some corrections).

Among the tracks I couldn't locate, at least Losers Weepers and Make Me Know It are available as transcriptions. There's a great 5-minute, mid-tempo, groovy version of Losers Weepers on 'Tommy Dorsey Plays Sweet And Hot (1940)'. Eyeball - what tempo and length is the original 78 version?

I would kill to have the instrumentals Serenade To The Spot and Another One Of Them Things in good quality.

Among the slow vocal numbers, I love [What Can I Say] After I Say I'm Sorry and The One I Love Belongs To Someone Else.

05-01-39 Marcheta - Classics 1239
07-20-39 Stop! It's Wonderful (voc. Edythe Wright) - Classics 1278
07-20-39 Stomp It Off - Classics 1278, Bluebird 9987
10-25-39 Easy Does It - Bluebird 9987
11-24-39 Losers Weepers - never issued on CD?
02-01-40 [What Can I Say] After I Say I'm Sorry (voc. Pied Pipers) - 'Swing Session' (excellent)
03-04-40 My My (voc. Pied Pipers) - on many comps.
04-10-40 I'm Nobody's Baby (voc. Connie Haines) - 'The Incomparable Tommy Dorsey' (poor)
04-10-40 Buds Won't Bud (voc. Connie Haines) - never issued on CD?
06-13-40 Quiet Please [early version], never issued on CD?
06-27-40 And So Do I (voc. Connie Haines) - never issued on CD?
06-27-40 The One I Love Belongs To Someone Else (voc. Pied Pipers, Frank Sinatra) - on many comps.
07-17-40 Quiet Please - Bluebird 9987
07-17-40 So What - Bluebird 9987
08-29-40 Make Me Know It - never issued on CD?
08-29-40 Another One Of Them Things - 'Carolina Moon' (quite poor)
10-16-40 Swingtime Up In Harlem (voc. Connie Haines) - 'Never Say Goodbye' (ok)
10-16-40 Swing High - Bluebird 9987
10-16-40 Swanee River [Old Folks At Home] - Bluebird 9987
11-11-40 You Say The Sweetest Things (voc. Pied Pipers, Connie Haines) - on many comps.
01-20-41 For You (voc. Jo Stafford) - on many comps.
01-20-41 Without A Song (voc. Frank Sinatra) - on many comps.
02-17-41 Deep River - Bluebird 9987
02-17-41 Serenade To The Spot - 'Carolina Moon' (poor)
02-17-41 Yes Indeed (voc. Sy Oliver, Jo Stafford) - Bluebird 9987
05-28-41 Nine Old Men (voc. Pied Pipers) - on many comps.
07-15-41 Loose Lid Special - Bluebird 9987
07-15-41 Blue Skies (voc. Frank Sinatra, ensemble) - on many comps.
07-15-41 Swingin' On Nothin' (voc. Sy Oliver, Jo Stafford) - Bluebird 9987
08-19-41 Hallelujah - Bluebird 9987
12-22-41 What Is This Thing Called Love (voc. Connie Haines) - on many comps.

Now to try and find a cassette player that still works. 3 down 2 to go.

I have SPOT and THINGS on cassette. Quality was fine for a 78 onto a cassette for listening purposes, but may not be good for public performance. Sorry.
Will big bands ever come back?

After searching the dark corners of the Internet, I am pretty sure that the 78 version of Losers Weepers is the fast 2:20 version found in poor sound quality on various compilations. I'm a bit disappointed since I enjoy the medium-paced version so much.

Going off on a tangent (sorry, Eyeball), can you hear the similarities between The One I Love and the Lunceford songs T'ain't What You Do, Le Jazz Hot and Twenty Four Robbers, of which the two first are also arranged by Sy Oliver?

I sent an email to Scott at Mosaic Records about the possibility of them doing this material in a Mosaic box set. He replied saying that, whilst they have next year planned out already, a Tommy Dorsey set is something that they have been considering.

Thx, Ken! I looked at a few sites but could not find a track listing. A tip o' the hat to you and Haydn. I just ordered a copy as I have little TD on CD.

Thanks Ken

I was just going to say that I can't find the CD at the moment - and I didn't really want to have to type out the track list (and I'm underskilled at digital photography which would be the other way).

Most of these Readers Digest releases are well worth getting - they seem to have access to the best quality masters, meaning they sound very good. From memory, I think this CD is live recordings - a combination of hard swing and ballads - and mostly excellent stuff.

Actually on checking this, I'm wrong - most tracks are good sounding record releases, and some of the later stuff is live. It's well worth getting.
