I met him once or twice many moons ago. He was visiting the US and a record collector/dealer/label owner was ferrying him around and there were 4 or 5 of us in some jazz collector's living room talking about records and jazz. I could barely begin to approach and understand what he was talking about as the convo turned to sound restoration.

Interesting experience with a record legend.

we're trying to eliminate redundancy here buddy... : )

i actually just wanted to clue you (and others) in on what others wrote about old John R.T., when he passed away i don't think many people knew who he was, i think more people are familiar with him now however...he was definetly a great person who did a lot for the preservation of 20's - 40's jazz music...
