I have this song by Titan Hot Seven, but I would like to find some other recordings preferably under 240bpm. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!
Pinar

Looks like it is an obscure song.

Who wrote it?

WHat other info do you have?

The only other version I know of is on The Condon Mob set from Mosaic Records.

My first thought was that songs with the word "Stomp" in them are usually pretty darn fast, even the horrible version of "King Porter Stomp" by the Manhatten Transfer is fast, so I don't think it would be worth it to try to find a version significantly slower ;-)

Thanks Kevin - this is on one of the CD's on that set I haven't catalogued yet. Pinar, this version is around 195 bpm - Jimmy McPartland and his Dixieland Band. Problem with this set is that it is expensive. Worth it though if you can afford it, I love the George Wettling groups on there and got the set just for them.

Sometimes swapping out the word "Stomp" for "Blues" can net some interesting results. Just a hint.

huh - don't know the TH7 version, but the Jimmy McPartland one doesn't sound anything like Basin St. Blues; different changes.

Do a google search on the first title.

one of the discographies shows less than 8 recordings for BST

basin street blues show some thing like 200 recordings.

tom lords discography.

There are several versions of king porter stomp in the 170 range. And I think you can find other stomp songs under 200 and a few around 200. Although it is true that quite of few of them are pretty fast.

I don't have any of the Titan Hot 7 recordings so can't really the original question. And allmusic only lists one version of the song on a Condon cd and it is attributed to Nick LaRocca.

Thanks everyone for all the help.

On the TH7 CD the composer is claimed to be Basin Street Six.
Elsewhere on the internet, I read that the composer is E.B. Marks. So, I am not really sure.

Thanks again!

Uhh, what Titan Hot Seven album is it on?

Details are very important when asking about a track!
