TERRIBLE singing

#1 Post by julius » Wed Sep 07, 2005 3:38 pm

Howard Alden, amazing guitarist. We all know him from the Sweet and Lowdown soundtrack, but he plays more than just swing era guitar. He's just fantastic.

His wife Terri, who usually gigs with him, SUCKS as a singer. She is HORRIBLE. Flat almost always. Wobbly on pitch. TERRIBLE stage presence. It's embarrassing how bad she is. She has been at Sweet and Hot when Howard is there, and I hear her on Howard's albums.

WHY GOD WHY? WHY DO BAD SINGERS PUT THEMSELVES ON RECORDS?

I think the better question is, "Why do their spouses put bad singers on albums?"
"Dance like it hurts. Love like you need money. Work when people are watching."

No singing == no sex.

At least, that's my theory.

Couldn't agree with you more. She's on some cd that Howard's also on that I have, and she stinks it up left and right. I think it's an Arbors cd, but I'm not 100% sure.

Howard on the other hand kicks ass...he plays often with David Ostwald's Gully Low Jazz Band here in NYC (especially at Birdland). Usually busts out an old-skool banjo...
