So, has anyone else come across this phenomenon? I borrowed this Carmen McRae album from the library the other day: You're Lookin' at Me (A Collection of Nat King Cole Songs)

Many of the arrangements are identical to those used by Diana Krall on All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio.

And I haven't gone back yet to the original Nat King Cole examples, but that's next on my list.

What other examples of dueling versions of the same arrangement have you come across? Which version do you prefer and why?

I noticed that the Diana Krall CD was 47% off!!

Wait until you hear the Nat versions! They are great.

I haven't compared those versions, but it seems like a great exercise. Another tribute to nat from another piano playing singer is

I'm not sure if he's using the same arrangement though.

It seems like any record made in the 90s or later that sells well can be found cheap at used sources. Supply and demand I guess.
