The only versions that I have seen were sub-100 bpm. Is there anything closer to the lindy range?.. (The fast portion of the Gene Harris version doesn't count )

I like her 'Summertime' but it's slow, too (105 bpm)

Chris Connor "Chris Connor Sings the George Gershwin Almanac of Songs"...a slow medium jazzy version.

This Earl Hines version (Budd Johnson on sax) bounces between 60bpm and 130bpm. It's got a bit of tempoless noodling at the beginning & end though.

I seem to recall Lambert Hendricks and Ross has a version that's, well, not fast, but not funereally slow either.

It might be hard to find a fast version of that song what with the lazy theme and all.

I really love the version from Sweet N' Jazzy - Album: Summertimes. ~ 125 bpm. There is one more version I played once from Lillie Huddleston same album. 200 bpm. I got the songs from iTunes, but now I cant find them anymore on there.

First post. So after I post this, I will do an introduction.

You might give a listen to a version from the 60s by Billy Stewart on Chess. It clocks in at a smooth 110 to 115. Got a bit of 'funky' type intro on some of the versions. I don't think the original 45 version did, but his greatest hits CD titled "One More Time" has the longer stereo version.

This song has been been a dance floor favorite in the Southeast US since it was issued. And still gets 'em up and going.

You may know some of Billy's other hit songs from the sixties like "I Do Love You" and "Sitting In The Park". Slow songs deluxe.

Please help me. This is the perfect topic for what I'm looking for. When I was a growing up I remember a faster version of Summertime but I don't remember who sang it. It would have been some time during the sixies maybe very early Seventies when I heard this song. One clue would be that it ended with "Little Darlin do not let a tear fall down from your eyes. Hey!" And then there was this drum roll... I think. Can someone please tell me who sang this version?
