Inspired by Mike's recent posts, here is another recommendation for high-energy swinging music recorded in the 50s:

Jess Stacy - A Tribute to Benny Goodman (amazon link)

I regularly play tracks from this album. Great versions of well-known favorites "King Porter Stomp", "Roll 'Em", "Don't Be That Way" and "Down South Camp Meeting".

Jess Stacy's chronological classic 44-50 is an awesome record as well.

This is a dynamite CD.

Ziggy Elman does some amazing work on this. I LOVE the version of Sing, Sing, Sing. THe horn playing by Ziggy makes me wish he had done more work on his own.
