Rushing/Williams duet?

#1 Post by trev » Fri Mar 25, 2005 12:44 am

I just finished watching a DVD of the 1962 Newport Jazz Festival and I was surprised to find Joe Williams and Jimmy Rushing singing together on 'Goin' To Chicago'. It was very cool.

Anyone know if it's available on CD, or if they sang together on other occasions?

They sang together in concert, usually at jazz festivals where they were both at, but I'm unaware of if there are any CDs of teh paring

I haven't heard it, but I bet it's sweet!

If you can't find it on CD, why not read the advice in the Ripping audio from a DVD to a CD thread.

Yeah I thought of ripping the audio, and I have the software to do it, but unfortunatley the audio quality on the DVD is quite poor. I'd be reluctant to DJ with it, but it would probably be fine just for listening.
