Delta Rhythm Boys

#1 Post by Nate Dogg » Thu Feb 12, 2004 1:27 pm

This obit made me think that I should create a Delta Rhythm Boys artist thread

"Rene DeKnight - Pianist and arranger for the Delta Rhythm Boys, who recorded and performed with the group from 1940 to 1961, who arranged and played on the Deltas groundbreaking and influential work including "Dry Bones" and "Take The A Train", among others, died Jan. 24 at his home in Cameron Park, California at age 90 (Carl Jones is the group's only survivor)."

As for Delta Rhythm Boy tunes, some of their songs that I play from time to time include:

"I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive" From The Jive Is Jumpin': RCA & Bluebird Vocal Groups, 1939-52
